Exporting your product list is useful for many things. It serves as a backup if you are concerned that you're going to make in the future will disrupt your current list. It allows you to set up the correct headers in the CSV (comma separated value) file to prepare for an import of products. Importing Products is found in the next chapter. It also allows you to edit fields in your product list that may need updating or modification. For example, you may need to change the prices on an entire category of products, using the Advanced Export will allow you to export only the fields you need to modify. To begin exporting follow the instructions below.

| 2. | If you are exporting the entire product list then simply click on the green Export Products button on the upper right side of the product list page. |
| 3. | A File Download window will appear to allow you to Open Save or Cancel this operation. Click Save and save it in a place on your computer where you'll have easy access to it; ie: your desktop. |
| 4. | The CSV file can be opened in Excel or Notepad. It is easier to read in Excel. |
When you open the file, the first row will contain all the product headers that you'll need to complete an import of your list once you have modified it the way that it needs to be modified. DO NOT change any of these product headers as that is how the system recognizes where to place each field in your product list upon import.
